Book our free community tent to promote your local group, club, or cause

Got something worth sharing with the Freo community?

Our community tent is a free space for local not-for-profit groups, clubs, and community organisations to connect with the people who matter most – their neighbours.

Set up for the morning, share your story, sign up new members, and spread the word about what you're doing to make our community better.

Tips for a great day

Engage, don't just hand out flyers
People are more likely to connect if you're friendly and approachable. Start conversations, answer questions, share stories.
Keep it visual
Bring photos, banners, or displays that show what your group is about. Make people curious.
Have a clear call to action
Whether it's signing up, following on social media, or attending your next event, make it easy for people to take the next step.
Bring a friend
Having two or more people at your tent means you can take breaks, grab a coffee, and have more conversations.
Embrace the vibe
This is Freo. Be genuine, be passionate, and don't be afraid to show your personality.

FAQs

How much does it cost?
Nothing. The community tent is completely free for eligible community groups.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as possible. Popular dates fill up quickly, especially around events or campaigns.
Can we come back multiple times?
Yes! Many groups book a few Sundays throughout the year. Just keep in mind we try to share the space around so everyone gets a turn.
What if it rains?
You'll be undercover. If there's a severe weather warning and the market closes, we'll help you reschedule.
Can we bring a gazebo or our own tent?
We provide the tent, but you can also bring your own if you prefer.
Can we hand out printed materials?
Absolutely. Just please use recycled paper where possible and avoid anything with single-use plastic.
The community tent is our way of giving back to the groups that make Freo special. If you're doing good work in our community, we want to help you do more of it. Questions? Contact us, we're happy to help.
